In most of its territory, the Republic of Croatia still has outdated cadastral operatives that no longer correspond to the real situation, which may be one of the reasons for land parcelling. Land parcelling is the division and / or merging of one or more cadastral parcels.

The complexity of this procedure also depends on the area in which the cadastral parcel in question is located - whether it is a construction or agricultural area. The procedure is carried out when it is necessary to correct or harmonize the shape and size of the cadastral parcel in kind and in the cadastral operetta or land register, or to form a new parcel.

Prema Pravilniku o geodetskim elaboratima bira se odgovarajuća svrha izrade elaborata, ovisno o vrsti dokumentacije (izvod iz prostornog plana, Rješenje o utvrđivanju građevinske čestice, Uvjerenje o statusu-namjeni zemljišta, sudska presuda).
